'my mistakes' was recorded in our rehearsal room at banana row studios in edinburgh. lee graham recorded it using a fostex VF160ex digital recorder.

the kit that ewan played on the album was a birch pearl masters. (22", 14", 12", 10"). he used a mapex 14" x 6" mapex black panther snare, and zildjian A custom projection cymbals (22" ride, 19", 17", 15" crash, 13" hi hats). he used promark 5b japanese shira kashi white oak drum sticks to hit the drums and cymbals. the sound of the drums was captured using very expensive microphones (AKG d112, AKG c414, AKG c1000, shure sm57, sennheiser e604)

robbie used an epiphone SG guitar tuned to E. he played this through a vox AC30 amplifier, and used his marshall avt150 as a preamp. a signal from the preamp was recorded through a line6 pod XT, and the sound from the vox was captured using a shure sm57 microphone. he used the marshall's two distorted channels. robbie recorded his vocals using a neumann u87 and rode nt-2 microphones, vocal effects were generated using megaphones, telephones, and a marshall jackhammer overdrive pedal.

steve used a fender US precision bass tuned to E. he played this through a hartke 3500 head and hartke 115 & 410 speaker cabinets. a signal from the head was recorded through a line6 bass pod, and sound from both the speakers was captured using shure sm57 microphones. he used a bespeco volume pedal, an electro-harmonix 'big muff' (russian), and his 'mr chunky' pedal: a modified boss ODB-3. steve recorded his vocals using a rode nt-2 microphone.

the model on the cover of the album is a friend of ours, cat sutherland. she is very lovely. the pictures were taken by steve and robbie on the royal mile, edinburgh, and in the many closes and wynds that arise from it. they were taken at 8.30am on a hungover saturday morning using digital cameras. the band photograph inside the booklet was taken using a digital camera in the teviot student union, edinburgh (without permission) by steve (using a remote control). the image on the back of the cd (under the song titles) is a picture of robbie's chest while he is wearing a little amber t-shirt.
